On the occasion of the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue and the European Cultural Season, and under the patronage of the French National Commission for UNESCO, the association Kyrnéa International / Passeurs d’images, launched in 1991 by the National Centre of Cinematography, organizes the second edition of the EUROPEAN FORUM FOR YOUTH AND IMAGES (REJI) in Paris from November 20th to December 6th, 2008.

> MEETING EUROPEAN CINEMA FOR TEENAGERS

European feature films screenings
November 20th to December 6th

During 16 days, European feature films will be screened in 9 European Cultural Centres and Institutes, as well as the Entrepôt Cinema Theatre, the Main City Hall of Paris and the Cité internationale des Arts de Paris.

4 themes emerge from this programme: Cultural dialogue, Family and Friendship, Youth, Society and its Chasms.

Conferences-debates
November 26th, 27th and 28th (MGEN Amphitheatre)

The European Forum for Youth and Images will also provide the opportunity to gather numerous European professionals in Media Literacy for conferences and debates in order to reflect and discuss different practices and deliberate on key issues, create networks and develop partnerships.  

> IMAGE LITERACY WORKSHOPS

Screenings of films by young European filmmakers
November 28th, 29th and 30th (Centre culturel suédois / Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles)

During 3 days, 100 young amateur European filmmakers, selected beforehand by a call for film proposals, will present their works and meet around these films. They will also debate with professionals like the director Jacques Molitor.

On friday morning (Nov28th), the Swedish Cultural Centre will host a meeting between Magaly Richard-Serrano, director and sponsor of the REJI, and the 3 winners of the Envie d’Agir-Selluloïd Festival, with the attendance of a 100 young Europeans.
